Auguste Louis Félix Bécart (July 5, 1896, Gonnehem, France - August 2, 1954, Barcelona, Spain:[1]) In 1950, he was a co-founder[2] of the Confrérie de la Chaîne des Rôtisseurs[3] (1950) and served as it's first vice-president. Dr Bécart suggested that the Confrérie should be based on simple and digestible cooking, essentially roasted and grilled meats.
Dr. Bécart was born in Gonnehem, Pas-de-Calais departement, France. He was the son of Félix Bécart and Jeanne Thilleul. Doctor of Medicine (Paris, 1923). Specialist in blood transfusion and digestive disorders. Doctor at Léopold Bellan Hospital and Saint-Michel Hospital in Paris. Member of various learned societies: Société de l'histoire de Paris et de l'Île-de-France and the Paris Medical Society.
