AB 434: State Web accessibility

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

This California state bill requires that at or before July 1, 2019, the director of each state agency and the chief information officer of that state agency post on the home page of their Internet site a signed certification that the agency’s site is in compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. This public assertion will be updated every two years to ensure that the highest officials in each department are kept accountable for meeting this guideline.

The bill, known as AB-434 State Web accessibility: standard and reports, was authored by Republican Senator Catharine Baker in 2017.
