Eco-city 2020 is a proposed revitalizing of the industrial zone of Mirniy in Eastern Siberia, Russia. The plan is to build a domed city in the Mir mine which is an abandoned diamond mine. The city design incorporates a vertical farm and forests in the center, surrounded by residences and recreational areas and it would be able to accommodate more than 100,000 people. It was first proposed in 2010 by AB Elise, an Russian architectural firm.[1][2]
