History of ACS[edit]

1997-2013[edit]

ACS Clothing Ltd (previously Allied Clothing Services) was founded in 1997 as a menswear retailer and wholesaler that specialised in the rental of highland wear to the Scottish market. Over the years, ACS experienced growing success and moved to a 25,000 sq. ft. facility that was purpose-built to fulfil rental operations in 2004. By 2006, ACS had expanded their product offering to include men’s formal hire alongside their original highland wear range. Following this, ACS partnered with multi-channel retailers including Slaters, Debenhams, and Burton to offer a white-label menswear formal and highland hire service in high-street stores. In 2013, ACS expanded again and moved to a new 85,000 sq. ft. purpose-built facility in Eurocentral, Glasgow that has approx. 20,000 sq ft available for expansion.

2017-2019[edit]

In 2017, ACS began to service womenswear brand partners as the rental clothing market emerged in the UK. In 2018, ACS then expanded their partner portfolio again by onboarding babywear rental clothing brands into their operations. By 2020, ACS had partnered with My Wardrobe HQ, Hirestreet, Rotaro, Endless Wardrobe, Bundlee and Graceful Changes to offer an end-to-end rental fulfilment service.

2020-2021[edit]

By 2021, ACS entered a joint venture with US based fashion tech platform CaaSlte, to facilitate a rental subscription clothing service to the UK market. The first UK retailer to introduce this circular rental fashion solution was Moss Bros.
