A-Gray is an American musician, rapper, and songwriter from Knoxville, Tennessee. Active since 2022, his music spans multiple genres, incorporating elements of hip-hop, pop, and punk rock.[1] He achieved early recognition with his melodic rap single "80 Missed Calls" and released the notable diss track "SANTA CRUZ" on September 25, 2026.[2] Across his independent catalog, A-Gray has accumulated over 1 million collective streams across major streaming platforms.

Early life

A-Gray was raised in a military family, frequently relocating during his youth due to his father's active service. Over the course of his childhood, he resided in Gainesville, Florida, followed by postings at Fort Knox, Fort Carson, Fort Bragg, Tobyhanna Army Depot, Fort Polk, and Fort Benning. At age 17, he enlisted in the United States Air Force before receiving an administrative discharge under adjustment disorder.

He developed an interest in music at age 12 after learning to perform technical rap material, including Eminem's "Rap God", which gained him early recognition among his peers. His early musical tastes were heavily influenced by hip-hop artists such as Eminem, NF, Token, Tom MacDonald, and Dax, later expanding into pop-punk and alternative influences through artists like Machine Gun Kelly. Guitar was the first instrument he learned to play.

Musical career

A-Gray initially built local recognition through informal freestyle performances. Seeking to establish an independent recording career, he taught himself music production and digital distribution methods using online resources. His first self-produced release was an unofficial remix of Jack Harlow's "What's Poppin", which was distributed independently before later being removed from platforms by the artist. He formally launched his public catalog under the moniker A-Gray in 2022.
