Kim Jae-seop (Korean: 김재섭, born June 4, 1991), better known by his stage name AJ, is a South Korean idol singer. He is best known as a member of boy band U-KISS. He is one of two members to join after the departure of Alexander and Kibum in February 2011. AJ is one of the three English-speaking members of U-KISS.[citation needed]

Career[edit]

Aj debuted as a part of Paran in 2005 when he was 14. Their debut song was "Cheot Sarang" (Hangul첫사랑; "First Love"). AJ and former soloist Hoon joined U-KISS, which is under the same label as Paran, after Alexander and Kibum left the group.[1] AJ made his debut as a member of U-KISS through the group's fifth mini album Bran New Kiss which was released on March 30, 2011 with the title song "0330".

AJ was admitted to Columbia University in the United States in 2011.[2] He went on hiatus for five months starting in August to concentrate on his studies, and did not U-KISS activities.[3] AJ returned to U-KISS on February 16, 2012.[citation needed]

On April 22, 2013, AJ and Eli formed a sub-unit called uBEAT and released the album Should Have Treated You Better.
