AJ Green is an American-Collegiate basketball player for the Northern Iowa Panthers.

Early life and education[edit]

Green was born on September 27th, 2000 in Cedar Falls, Iowa. He graduated from Cedar Falls High School.

High school basketball career[edit]

Out of High School, Green was a top 100 recruit (ESPN No. 74, 247 No. 77, Scout No. 77, Rivals No. 81).

The overall 4 star recruit attended Cedar Falls High School and was selected as a First-Team All-State pick by the Iowa Newspaper Association in 2016, 2017, and 2018.

Green is the all-time leading scorer in school history. He averaged 26 points per game his senior season and led his team to a State Championship title in 2018.

Besides basketball, Green was a Letterman in Golf.[1]

Basketball Offers[edit]

AJ was given offers from several Division 1 teams such as Clemson, Minnesota, Nebraska, Iowa State, Virginia, South Dakota State, and North Dakota but chose to continue basketball in his hometown (Cedar Falls, IA) with Northern Iowa. Green's dad, Kyle Green, is the Assistant Head Coach for UNI.[2]

College basketball career[edit]

Green has completed his first season at the University of Northern Iowa winning the Missouri Valley Conference Freshman of the Year Award. Green becomes just the 3rd player in Northern Iowa history to win this. Along with that award, Green made the all-MVC third team, the all-freshman team and the all-newcomer team in his freshman season.[3]
