ANAK Tulay Ng Kabataan (ANAK-Tnk or TNK) is a Philippines-based non-profit organization that was founded in 1998 by Matthieu Dauchez[2]. The foundation's primary goal is to improve the lives of children who are living in extreme poverty, including those who are on the streets or living in slums and dumpsites in Manila[3].
ANAK-Tnk offers programs that are designed to protect, educate, and improve the health and nutrition of children, depending on their particular situation. As of 2023, the foundation operates 36 centers and benefits around 2,500 children and 11 elderly individuals[4].
The organization relies on donations from affiliated and non-affiliated NGOs, corporate sponsors, and other organizations to fund its programs.
In July 2006, a group of street educators of ANAK-Tnk Foundation (Tulay ng Kabataan) met Darwin Ramos[5] and proposed him to join the foundation. Darwin entered in one of the centers of the foundation dedicated to the street children with disabilities: “Our Lady Of Guadalupe center”. He died in PCMC (Philippine Children’s Medical Center, Quezon City) on Sunday, September 23, 2012. Darwin was recently declared “Servant of God” by the Vatican[6].
In January 2015, Pope Francis visited ANAK-Tnk centers[7] during his visit to the Philippines, following Typhoon Haiyan. During Pope Francis' visit, a significant moment occurred when a street child named Glyzelle Palomar, a former beneficiary of the ANAK-TNK Foundation, engaged in a heartfelt conversation with the Pope, discussing the challenges faced by street children and their need for love and support[8].
In addition to his responsibilities, Father Matthieu Dauchez travels worldwide to raise awareness about the plight of street children, shedding light on their struggles and advocating for their rights and well-being[9]
