APDS is a Development firm owned by New Product Group B.V. located in the Netherlands that was founded in 1990 by Fred van der Weij.[1][2][3] It was mainly focused on the development of products and new technologies.[4] APDS is mainly focused on new technologies relating to food and beverages, making up roughly 70% of their business.[5] Other products mainly are related to health and transportation.[4] In 2014, the company split into two separate companies to focus on separate things, although still closely connected.[3] APDS Development B.V. is focused on the development of actual products and technologies. APDS Originals B.V. is more focused on collecting and analyzing data from companies, business development, and managing IP rights.[5] One of the more well-known technologies invented by APDS was the Rapid Air Technology, which is a critical part of air fryers today.[1]
