AVI Systems is a Minnesota-based audio visual company.

Originally known as AudioVisual Inc, the company was founded in 1974 by a schoolteacher from Bismarck.[1] In 2004 AVI acquired the assets of Atlanta-based MCSi Inc., including offices in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Michigan.[1] In 2008 AudioVisual changed its name to AVI Systems.[2] In 2009 the AVI’s ownership was assumed fully by the employees of the company.[3] In 2011 it absorbed part of Roscor’s workforce after Roscor closed.[4]

Systems[edit]

The company creates visual units for walls and other spaces,[5] electronic whiteboarding systems, and videoconferencing systems for educational and commercial organizations like business offices and law firms.[6] It integrates these systems along with telepresence and broadcast systems.[3][7]

As of 2009, the CEO of the company was Jeff Stoebner,[8][9] who previously served as COO,[10] and before that the vice president of sales and marketing.[11] The CFO is Randi Borth.[12] In 2013 the company’s revenues were $170 million.[13] The company is headquartered in Eden Prairie, Minnesota.[8] It has offices located in Chicago; Detroit; Cincinnati; St. Louis; Albuquerque, New Mexico; Minneapolis; Kansas City, Kansas; Des Moines, Iowa; Davenport, Iowa; Omaha; Bismarck, North Dakota; Grand Forks, North Dakota; San Diego; Milwaukee; Grand Rapids, Michigan; Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Lexington, Kentucky; Dallas, Texas and Madison, Wisconsin.[8]
