A Life of Faith
A Life of Faith books are based on Martha Finley's Elsie Dinsmore and Mildred Keith books. They have been adapted to appeal to modern children. The language has been updated, and the stories have been shortened. The books are published by Mission City Press, located in Franklin, TN.
There are five series so far in the A Life of Faith series.
Elsie Dinsmore Series[edit]
The Elsie series is based on approximately the first six Elsie Dinsmore books. Some things have been changed such as the names of Elsie's two youngest children. In the original books they were Rosie and Walter. In the new version they are Rosemary and Daniel.
The series has eight books, a diary, and two supplement books.

The Millie Keith books are based on the Mildred Keith books written by Martha Finley. Millie Keith is Elsie Dinsmore's cousin.

The Violet Travilla books focus on Elsie's second daughter Violet. It starts at approximately book seven of the classic "Elsie Dinsmore" series.

Laylie Colbert[edit]
The Laylie book is about a young slave girl, Laylie, who meets Millie Keith and must make some very important decisions.
The series consists of only one book.
- 1.Laylie's Daring Quest
Laylie Colbert is a 7-year-old girl growing up on Elsie's grandfather's plantation, Roselands, although it is before Elsie comes to live there. Laylie and her brother Luke are orphans, but are well taken care of by other slaves on the plantation. The book follows Laylie through many trials and hardships causing her to reconsider what she truly believes.
Kathleen McKenzie[edit]
Kathleen's books were not written by Martha Finley, but are part of the A Life of Faith series. Kathleen is not related to the other girls.
