Development[edit]
In April 2018, Paramount Chair and CEO Jim Gianopulos said a sequel to the film was "in the works".[2][3] Screenwriters Woods and Beck had previously stated that they had begun thinking of ideas and set pieces for a possible second film.[4] By August 2018, Paramount announced the project with Krasinski returning to write the script, while Platinum Dunes producers Bay, Form and Fuller returning as producers.[5]
In February 2019, Krasinski announced he would serve as director, while Blunt will reprise her role from the first film and also confirmed the start of pre-production on A Quiet Place Part II via his Twitter social media page.[6] Simmonds and Jupe are also in negotiations to reprise their roles.[7] On March 29, 2019, Cillian Murphy was in talks to star in the sequel.[1]
Release[edit]
The film is scheduled to be released on March 20, 2020.[8]
