A Sony Pictures Entertainment Company
A Sony Pictures Entertainment Company was the byline of all Sony Pictures divisions like Screen Gems Pictures (which has the byline in all caps), Columbia and TriStar Pictures (which both have a and company in lowercase and SONY PICTURES ENTERTAINMENT in all caps), and Affirm Films and Triumph Films (which has the A, S, P, E, and C in uppercase letters). It was first seen in 1992 as a closing logo[1], and later began appearing in films like Jumanji (which has the Sony Pictures byline in blue), Django Unchained (which has the 1968 Columbia logo and the Sony Pictures Entertainment byline), Hotel Transylvania, Open Season, Easy A, Friends with Benefits, Soul Surfer, Planet 51, and others. It was used on television divisions Columbia Pictures Television, Columbia Pictures Television Distribution, Columbia TriStar Television, Columbia TriStar Domestic Television, and TriStar Television. Sony Pictures started in 1991 and debuted American Hustle in 2013, where it has the Sunburst logo and the new byline, A Sony Company.[2]
