A for Anand is an upcoming Indian Kannada-language drama film directed by M. G. Srinivas. Produced by Geetha Shivarajkumar under the Geetha Pictures banner, the film stars Shiva Rajkumar in the lead role. It is scheduled to release in theatres on 8 December 2025.[1][2]
Premise
The film is positioned as a children’s entertainer. Rajkumar plays a teacher, and through his character the story looks at the stresses of modern education. Director Srinivas has said that the film intends to put forward a positive and socially relevant message without sounding overly didactic.[3]

Production
The film was formally launched with a muhurtha (inaugural ceremony) in May 2025. According to Srinivas, the idea for the project was suggested by producer Geetha Shivarajkumar during the filming of Ghost. He also mentioned that parts of the narrative take inspiration from Totto-chan: The Little Girl at the Window, a Japanese memoir that explores unconventional approaches to schooling.[5]
Release
A for Anand is slated for theatrical release in India on 8 December 2025.[6]
