Aaditya Gupta (born 12 September 2002) is an Indian actor who works primarily in Hindi-language films and web series. He is known for his roles as Mukul Ahuja in the web series Criminal Justice: Adhura Sach (2022), Chhota in the film Apurva (2023), and Anirban in the web series School Friends.
Early life and education
Gupta was born on 12 September 2002 in Kolkata, West Bengal. He developed an interest in acting during his school years. In the 11th grade, he participated with friends in a short-film competition, an experience that encouraged him to pursue acting professionally. He subsequently joined the Kolkata-based theatre group Rangakarmee, where he received formal acting training.[1]
Career
Theatre and debut
Gupta began his professional acting journey with Rangakarmee during the COVID-19 pandemic. He had previously participated in plays at school, but his training with the theatre group marked the beginning of his more serious pursuit of acting.[2]
While training at Rangakarmee, Gupta auditioned for an on-screen role in Kolkata. Although he did not receive that role, the casting agency later invited him to audition for the role of Mukul Ahuja in the third season of Criminal Justice. After several rounds of auditions, he was selected for the role.[2]
Criminal Justice: Adhura Sach
Gupta made his screen debut in the Disney+ Hotstar series Criminal Justice: Adhura Sach, which premiered in August 2022. He played Mukul Ahuja, a teenager at the centre of the season's criminal investigation.[3]
Film and web series
In 2023, Gupta appeared as Chhota in the Hindi-language thriller film Apurva, starring Tara Sutaria. He subsequently became part of the principal cast of the youth-oriented web series School Friends, in which he plays Anirban Gupta.[4]
