Aaditya Kulshreshth, professionally known as Kullu, is an Indian stand-up comedian, writer, actor and television host.[1][2] He became known to online audiences through appearances in comedian Tanmay Bhat's reaction videos, where he was referred to as “Writer OP”.[2][3]

Kulshreshth has toured with the stand-up shows Smooth Kullu Smooth and Fresher's Party.[3][4] His acting work includes a supporting role in the Hindi-language romantic comedy Loveyapa (2025).[5] He later hosted the fifth season of the business reality programme Shark Tank India.[6]

Early life

Kulshreshth is from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.[2][7] He began performing stand-up comedy while studying engineering.[2] He moved from Bhopal to Mumbai in March 2022 to pursue further opportunities in entertainment.[1]

In an interview with The New Indian Express, Kulshreshth said that Bhopal had few open-mic opportunities during his early years as a comedian. According to him, local performers organised their own shows, opened for visiting comedians and travelled to other cities to test their material.[7]

Career

Comedy and digital work

Kulshreshth gained wider online recognition as a regular participant in Tanmay Bhat's reaction-video series. He became associated with the nickname “Writer OP” through those appearances.[2][3]

He also worked as a writer on the comedy programme Farzi Mushaira.[8]

In 2023, Kulshreshth began touring with his first solo stand-up show, Smooth Kullu Smooth. The show incorporated material about his upbringing, personal experiences and middle-class life.[3]

He later toured with Fresher's Party, a stand-up show based on college friendships, youthful ambition and his attempts to fit in as a student.[9] A filmed version of the show was released online in 2026.[4]

Reviewing the special for DeadAnt, Shantanu Sanzgiri wrote that its stories about college friendships and small-town aspirations were strengthened by Kulshreshth's specific observations, self-deprecating delivery and extended storytelling.[4]

Acting and presenting

In 2025, Kulshreshth appeared in Loveyapa, a Hindi-language romantic comedy directed by Advait Chandan. He played a friend of Gaurav, the character portrayed by Junaid Khan.[5]

Kulshreshth told India Today that he auditioned and screen-tested for the role. He also said that he had been interested in acting before establishing himself as a comedian.[5]

In its review of the film, the Hindustan Times discussed Kulshreshth's performance but stated that his character could have been given a more substantial role.[10]

In the same year, he presented Ishq Interrupted, a dating-comedy programme released through JioHotstar's Sparks content line-up.[11][12]

Kulshreshth became the host of the fifth season of Shark Tank India, which premiered on 5 January 2026. He replaced comedian Aashish Solanki as the programme's principal host.[6]

In 2026, he and comedian Rohan Joshi co-hosted Dekh Bhais, an IMDb digital programme centred on film and television recommendations.[13][14]

Comedy style

Kulshreshth's stand-up material frequently draws upon his upbringing in Bhopal, engineering-college experiences, friendships and middle-class life.[3][4]

He told The New Indian Express that his early comedy was largely based on broadly relatable observations, while his later work became more personal and vulnerable as he developed an established audience.[7]
