Aaron Edmund Newton Cass (Mar Timotheos II Yochanan) is an American Old Catholic bishop. In 1976 +Cass, with the permission of Roman Catholic Bishop Ernest Leo Unterkoeffler of the Diocese of Charleston, SC, founded the Congregation of Franciscan Servants as a spiritual disciple hoping to grow it into a Community. The Congregation of Franciscan Servants continues in the United States Old Catholic Church to this day under +Cass's direction. +Cass began his walk with the ISM in 1981 when he was Chrismated into the Orthodox Catholic Church of America by Metropolitan GEORGE AUGUSTINE Hyde. He was admitted into the Order of St. Basil and then tonsured in 1982. He served as assistant to Metropolitan Hyde and served at Holy Apostles OCCA Parish in Anderson, SC. Upon it's dissolution in 1984 he ceased public ministry and entered once again into Franciscan Religious life as a penitent. +Cass resumed Ministry with the OCCA in 2000 when Metropolitan Brian Carsten called in back to Ministry and to Ordained service. After moving from the OCCA in 2004, +Cass spent several years with the Charismatic Episcopal Church in Spartanburg, SC. He then left, following a call to an open and inclusive ministry in the Old Catholic Churches. He served as Metropolitan of the Old Catholic Apostolic Church, Province of the Holy Cross from 2012 until 2013 when the Province formed the International Old Catholic Churches which he then served by election as Presiding Bishop until 2015. He, with several Priests then formed the Progressive Catholic Church which he served as Presiding Bishop until 2021. +Cass is a Bishop of the United States Old Catholic Church, Pastor of Holy Cross Mission and PACEM Recovery House in Greenville, SC.
