Aath Kuthuri Noy Daraja (Bengali: আট কুঠুরি নয় দরজা) is a 1993 Bengali thriller novel by Indian author Samaresh Majumdar. The story is set in a fictional hilly kingdom and follows the revolutionary leader Akashlal and his struggle against an authoritarian ruler, combining mystery, suspense, and political intrigue. The narrative begins with the suppression of a revolutionary group and the apparent death of its leader, Akashlal, while in police custody. Despite being secretly buried to prevent public unrest, Akashlal mysteriously returns, setting off a chain of events tied to the enigmatic “eight rooms and nine doors,” which serve as a symbolic and literal puzzle within the story.
