AazadKhalid32
Aazad Khalid is an Indian politician, television journalist, and social worker. He is associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and serves as the National President of HelpAge International.[1] He is regarded as a senior Muslim leader of the BJP and is known for his association with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Bhagat Singh Koshyari.[2]
Political career
Khalid began his political career with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), serving as its General Secretary from 1982 to 1984.[3] He later became Vice President of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) from 1984 to 1986.[4]
He served as Vice President of the BJP in Uttarakhand when the state was part of undivided Uttar Pradesh.[5] In 1998, he worked as the Election In-charge for Pramod Mahajan during the Lok Sabha elections from the Bombay North East constituency.[6]
Government roles
Khalid was a member of the Central Telephone Advisory Board from 2001 to 2002.[7]
Social work
In addition to his political roles, Khalid has organised several public meetings and gatherings for senior political leaders during Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections.[8] He continues to be involved in initiatives supporting senior citizens through HelpAge International.[9]
