Abacus News (or simply Abacus) is an online newspaper platform launched by Hong Kong-based company South China Morning Post in March 2018. It is available as a website and mobile app..[1] Using JavaScript-enabled interface, it calls itself a platform that is “all about China tech for the rest of the world”. It publishes stories daily on its website, as well as via a weekly newsletter. Abacus also co-produces with 500 start-ups and the South China Morning Post a yearly China Internet Report which claims to “break down everything you need to know about China’s thriving tech industry”[2]
