Abba Mustapha Inuwa (Born January 21, 1978), also known as Abba El-Mustapha or Abba Ruda, is a Nigerian politician, actor and producer in Kannywood, the Hausa film industry.[1] He also serves as the Director of the Kano State censorship board.[2][3]
Early life and education[edit]
Born on January 21, 1978, in Dandago, Kano State, Nigeria. Abba el-mustapha attended primary and secondary schools in Kano State. He has a first degree in Political Science and Library and Information, and a master's degree in public administration from Bayero University Kano.[4][5][6][7][8]

Film industry[edit]
Abba El-Mustapha started acting in 2002. He joined the Hausa film industry with the help of his mother who invest in his first film "Rude" which he got his nickname "Abba Ruda". He has his own film company which he continues producing his own films.[9][10]

Politics[edit]
Abba Ruda, a Kwankwasiyya associate, gained political prominence during the 2019 Nigerian elections. He was part of PDP's Abba Kabir Yusuf's campaign team for Kano State gubernatorial election.[13] In the 2023 elections, Abba played a significant role in NNPP's presidential and gubernatorial campaigns.[14] After forming the government, Abba Kabir Yusuf, now the Kano State Governor, appointed him as Director of the Kano State censorship board.[15][16]
