Abbotoir were an Irish funeral doom band from Belfast formed in January 2013. The band's original line up consisted of bassist _, guitarists J and [], vocalist D and drummer 432. After the release of their debut album MCMXV, all three members left, leaving _ the only member and turning the band into a solo project until its dissolution in 2017.
Many of the project's songs exceed 20 minutes in length, with the exception of the song "Cutting the Latter", which only clocked in at 18 minutes in length. The song "Autotelic Sentience" however, exceeds 30 minutes while the final Abbotoir album, LXI, returns to the 20-minute song length.
