Abdou Harouna
Abdou Laouali Harouna is a Nigerien manager and politician, he was born in 1968 in Maradi.
Life and education
Abdou Harouna attended primary and secondary school in his hometown of Maradi. He was Secretary General and President of the student councils at the Lycée Dan Baskoré in Maradi and at the Lycée Kassaï in Niamey . He worked as a member of the security service of the Presidium of the National Conference that met in 1991.[1]
Harouna studied English at the Kaduna Polytechnic in Nigeria , followed by studies at the Federal University of Technology Minna in Nigeria, from which he graduated in 1997 as an agricultural engineer with a focus on water and forestry .[2] He served as Secretary General of the students from Niger in Nigeria.
Work
After completing voluntary service , Abdou Harouna moved to the United States . He worked for the fluid power company, Flowserve in Lynchburg , Virginia from 2000 to 2004 as a Logistics and Administration Director. He then worked as a manager for the aviation division of Eaton Corporation until 2007.
During this time , he earned further degrees from the University of Michigan and Harvard . [2] He was also Vice President of the Association of Nigerien Nationals in the United States.[1]
In 2007, he worked as a purchasing and logistics director for the telecommunications company Celtel in the Democratic Republic of Congo , and for the telecommunications company Zain in Manama in 2008. , Bahrain , and subsequently in 2009 he worked for the energy company Areva in Niger. Harouna was awarded the title Sarkin Yaki of the Sultanate of Maradi (Sarkin Yaki is the Sultan's "Minister of Defense." ) in 2012.

in the Nigerian Party for Democracy and Socialism and was considered the most influential figure in the Maradi branch of the party, even though he initially served only as second vice-president. In the parliamentary elections on February 21, 2016, Abdou Harouna was elected to the National Assembly as a representative for Maradi . The President of the Nigerian government, Mahamadou Issoufou, in November 3, 2016, appointed him Director General of the newly founded telecommunications company Niger Telecom.[3]
Abdou Harouna is married and has five children.[2]
