From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Abdullah ibn Ali ibn Abi Talib (Arabic: عبدالله بن علي بن ابي‌طالب‎) is regarded as the fifth Imam Ali's sons and the second son of Fatimah bint Hizam (who is known as Umm al-Banin). He is also one of Abbas ibn Ali's younger brothers. Abdullah ibn Ali was killed at the battle of Karbala by Hani ibn Thabit.[1]

Abdullah's life was coincided with Imam Ali for 6 years and also all of his life with his father (Hussain ibn Ali);[2] He is famous as one of the martyrs of the Battle of Karbala. His name (Abdullah ibn Ali) is available in historical books as Abdullah al-Akbar (in Arabic: عبدالله الاکبر) with the Kunya (title) of Abu Mohammad.[3][4] His name has been mentioned in the Ziyarat al-Nahiya al-Moqaddasa.[5] which is considered as a famous Ziyarats of Hussain[6]

Karbala[edit]

Abdullah along with Imam Hussain came to Mecca (from Medina), then went to Karbala, and is regarded among the children of Umm al-Banin that Shemr got safe-conduct for him, and brought to Karbala.[7] He was killed in the battle at the age of 25[8] although there are other views about his age when he was killed, too.[9] There are diverse sources which indicate that he has been killed in Karbala and actually name him among the martyrs (of Karbala), such as al-Tabari, al-Sheikh al-Tusi, al-Khawrazmi and so on.[10][11]
