Abe Gupta is an American Politician and a member of the Dublin, California City Council.[1] In 2013, his colleagues on the City Council selected him to serve out the remainder of Eric Swalwell who had been elected to Congress.[2] Gupta is the youngest elected official in Alameda County, California and the first politician of South Asian descent in the San Ramon Valley. Born in 1983, the son of Indian immigrants, he earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Stanford at the age of 20 and a law degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law at the age 23.[3] Gupta was elected to a full term on the Council in November 2014.[4] Gupta was elected vice mayor by his colleagues unanimously in December 2014.
