Abe Meissner Yates (born December 31, 2003 – December 18, 2021) was an American actor and musician. He was best known for his roles as Fregley in the 2022 fan-film 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Freshman Year' and a posthumous role in the 2023 spin-off film 'Reece's Ruckus'.
Early and personal life
Yates was born on December 31, 2003 in Pontiac, Michigan to his parents Joe Yates and Robin Meissner. He had an interest in coding and was given several nicknames by friends such as The Abester, Abeybaby, Rocket, Abob, Sir Dookie, and The Ginga Ninja. Yates attended Madison Southern High School in Berea, Kentucky where he met his friends Luke Seals and was given the role to play Fregley in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Freshman Year fan-film short.
Yates had a girlfriend named Ollie Bellando.
Death
Yates, aged 17, passed away on December 18, 2021, due to a large brain aneurysm that ruptured, resulting in a catastrophic stroke.
