Abeg app
Abeg app, also called Abeg, is a Nigerian fintech app for peer-to-peer social payments.[1][2][3][4]
History
Dare Adekoya and Akanni Muheez founded Abeg in 2019[5] and launched in September 2020.[6][7] Abeg is modelled after CashApp.[1][6] Rather than account numbers, users transfer money to each other using a username called the abegtag.[8] In 2021, MultiChoice announced Abeg as the headline sponsor of Big Brother Naija (season 6).[4][9]
