Abhi Gholap
Abhijeet (Abhi) Gholap (born 1 January 1972) is an entrepreneur[1], innovator, film producer & distributor. His debut film production, Deool (2011), won 3 National Awards. Abhijeet was awarded the Golden Lotus Award at the hands of the President of India.[2] He produced his second film, Bharatiya (2012). Bharatiya featured leading actors from the Marathi film industry with music by Ajay-Atul.[3] After this movie, Abhijeet presented Hou De Jarasa Ushir (2013) that was selected among the top 282 films for a nomination in the Best Film Category for Oscars.[4] The film's screenplay has already been preserved by Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences library for research purposes.[5]
Apart from film production and distribution, Abhijeet has innovated and authored 21 technology solutions that received patents[6] granted by USPTO. His first technology venture, BioImagene[7] was acquired by Roche Diagnostics for $100mn in 2010.[8] Abhijeet[9] was nominated for the Entrepreneur of the Year award by CEO Review magazine.[10]
Abhijeet was born in Mumbai and is married to Dr. Gauri Naik Gholap. He attended IIT Mumbai and Stanford Graduate School of Business. Presently, Abhi is a board member of TiE Silicon Valley, California[11] and founder chairman of Optra Ventures, California.
