Abhik Saha is an Indian Entrepreneur, Programmer and the Founder of Origgon and Creator of Lino. Saha was born on 24 April 2002 in Chalsa, West Bengal, India. He completed his ICSE class X studies in 2017 from Don Bosco School, Oodlabari. Saha started his journey at the age of 11. Saha was so interested in technology that he got himself a computer. Saha learned HTML/CSS from his school. Later Saha also managed to learn basic C++ / JAVA / Visual Basic / Visual C#.
Saha later, in 2014, got his first broadband connection to his home, which opened roads to infinite knowledge.
Saha created his first very basic antivirus named Seren at the age of 13, using simple hash-based detection and packed with parental control and website blocker.
Later Saha worked on various technologies and learned developing Android apps and got featured on TV as one of India's youngest App developers.
He also uploaded his apps and games made in Java and Unity3D to Playstore.
He was so immersed in technology with his vast curiosity that he made his first basic micro Transcompiler / Programming Language named Lino, which is based on C++, in the year 2016, at the age of 14.
From then on, the journey started with his first hands-on experience with Information Retrieval, later making and founding Origgon at the age of 14, which went live on 28 October.
Journey
The first version of Origgon was written in ASP.NET. Saha tested numerous features in it throughout the year. Later, after completing his Class X Boards Exam in April 2017, he moved to Mumbai where he got his first round of angel funding to make Origgon a startup.
Origgon was officially live on August 14 (The beta symbol still remains).
The name Origgon comes from 'ORIGIN'.
Origgon is the world’s first of its kind social search engine. Currently, users require to sign in with Facebook to access all the socialize the results completely.
Origgon not only ranks websites using AI but largely values social ranking signals such as likes, comments, shares etc. Origgon is currently powered by Bing, but Origgon also has its own crawlers in beta, named ORI/BOT.
Origgon also largely personalises users’ results using friends-based ranking and a behavioural approach and also using machine learning based on users’ social media interaction, friends, interest, browser history, clicks, location, time, device.
Awards
On March 19, 2018, Saha was the youngest Awardee to receive the Gandhian Young Technological Innovation Award (GYTI) Award from the President of India.
