Abid Ullah Jan
Abid Ullah Jan (born 1965)[1] is a featured writer and community development specialist in Ottawa Ontario, Canada.[2] Jan has conceptualized and implemented a model of crime prevention through social development in South East Ottawa, called No Community Left Behind (NCLB). The program won several Awards, including Community Builder of the Year Award from the United Way Ottawa.[3] Jan was also awarded with Community Safety Leader award by Crime Prevention Ottawa on November 3, 2009,[4] and Heroes Among Us award by OCISO Ottawa on March 10, 2010.[2]
Abid Ullah Jan is a community development specialist and the author of several books both on community development [5], community safety [6]as well as international affairs[7], However, he discontinued his political analysis in 2007 and removed his works on the subject from the public domain, as far as possible. Since 2006-07, Abid Ullah Jan has devoted his time to building equity, community safety and wellbeing. He convened one of the largest coalitions, called United for All, to overcome hate and violence in Ottawa. He work was recognised with the Kindness Award [8] Abid Jan’s education and awareness work is available are PeaceQuest Centre for Human Excellence[9].
