Aboriginal Hostels Limited (AHL) is a company limited by guarantee owned by the Australian Government which provides short-term accommodation to Indigenous Australians travelling away from home to access government services or education.[3]
In 1987, AHL was reported by the Canberra Times to be the "largest single employer" of Aboriginal Australians.[4] In 2017 over two-thirds of its employees were Indigenous, the highest percentage of any government agency.[5]
