About Him & Her

About Him & Her (previously “him & her”) is a 2021 American romantic comedy-drama film written by Ice Mrozek and Independence Hall. It is Ice Mrozek’s feature film directorial debut based on memories of a moment in time in his life. The film stars Callan McAuliffe and Cristina Spruell with Independence Hall producing.

The film was shot in a unique way. Mostly in chronological order with the two lead actors not seeing one another or knowing one another’s names while working together, sometimes in the same room. They met for the first time at the film’s private premiere at the old flagship Landmark Theatre on Pico in Los Angeles.

Plot

Inspired by true memory, two strangers connect when their phone lines unexpectedly cross. Rather than hanging up something sparks them to continue the conversation. Both searching for meaning and answers in their own lives, they forge a connection that gives them each the will to transform what’s been haunting them. With their lives going in different directions and long distance an obstacle to a lasting commitment they decide to meet for one day, in an unusual way. The fleeting encounter will change their lives forever.

The film premiered at Newport Beach Film Festival. The film had a limited spirit award qualifying run in United States in 2022 by Anam Cara Films, after which the cut was opened again with some editing tweaks a new sound mix and a name change to About him & her.
