Absolute Collagen
Absolute Collagen was founded in 2015 by Maxine Laceby.[1] and her eldest daughter Darcy Laceby. They sell liquid collagen supplements and serums.
History
Despite having no prior business experience, Maxine Laceby experienced the positive effect of collagen and started to research it in more detail. During her research, she spoke to scientists and looked at the evidence obtained from clinical trials[2].
Maxine launched Absolute Collagen to provide consumers with collagen supplements.[citation needed] After launching the Absolute Collagen brand successfully, it managed to make £10m revenue in just three years[3].
Products & Subscription Services
Absolute Collagen produces liquid collagen drinks, serums and shampoo/conditioner products. They also offer a subscription service[4]. Absolute Collagen products are available on the brand website and they also retail through selected suppliers including Amazon.
The aim of Absolute Collagen is to offer a natural way to boost the body’s own production of collagen, helping to support and maintain skin, hair and nails[5]. It contains marine collagen, which when absorbed, passes into the bloodstream, before being carried throughout the body as amino acids[6].
Absolute Collagen comes in 10ml per sachet servings; each 10ml serving contains 8000mg of hydrolysed marine collagen[7].
Liquid collagen is known as the best way for the body to absorb collagen, which is far superior to collagen pills and is 100% natural. Consumers can drink the liquid straight from the sachet or add to food or drinks[8]
Manufacturing
Absolute Collagen is a B Corp Certified Company, following an auditing process they were awarded an overall score of 82.4. This median score for businesses who complete the assessment is 50.9[9].
Before Brexit, Absolute Collagen was only using its warehouse in Ireland to ship to the UK and Europe. After that, for reasons including costs, customs and delivery delays, they had to find a European solution since a lot of their customers are based in France.
Marketing
Emma Willis has been appointed as an ambassador for the brand[10].
