Abstractions (conference)
Abstractions is a software conference first held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, US, organized by Code & Supply, a local software community.[1]. The first Abstractions was held at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center[2] on August 21–23, 2016[3] and had 1700 international attendees[4][5]. The conference’s attendees are software developers and other software professionals [6]
A second Abstractions conference is scheduled for August 2019 in Pittsburgh.[7]
Program
The event featured many prominent names in software delivering presentations.[8] Some of the notable names include: Joe Armstrong, Jono Bacon, Raffi Krikorian, Sandi Metz, Allison Randal, Richard Stallman, Larry Wall, and Jeffrey Zeldman. The conference had 134 sessions total.[9][10] Most sessions were presentations from a mix of invited speakers and sessions chosen from a call for proposal [11]. Some topics covered in the sessions include Nodejs, Kubernetes, Docker, Javascript, APIs, and open source software[12]
