The Abu Dhabi Award is a UAE-based honor established by the Government of Abu Dhabi to recognize both citizens and residents of the emirate who have made outstanding contributions to the community. The award was launched under Amiri Decree No. 29 of 2005 and is presented every two years.[1]
The award is considered the highest civilian honor in the emirate. Since its inception and up to its tenth edition in 2019, it has honored 92 individuals from 16 different nationalities. The award highlights people who have stood out for their remarkable contributions.[2]
Award Objective
is to honor those who have contributed with dedication and a strong sense of commitment to serving Abu Dhabi, so that their actions become a source of inspiration, encouraging others to engage in meaningful work that benefits the community.[3]
Eligibility Criteria
The award honors individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the community, regardless of age, nationality, profession, or country of residence. The only requirement for nominees is that they must have carried out good deeds and made positive contributions that have benefited the community of the United Arab Emirates.[4]
