From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Abu Iyaad (Arabic: أبو عياض) also known as Abu Iyaad Amjad Rafiq, is a contemporary Salafi Islamic writer, translator, and polemicist. He is known for his publications and involvement in Salafi dawah (preaching) and his online articles speaking about and dealing with topics and situations from a orthodox-Salafi perspective.[1][2]

Overview

Abu Iyaad is associated with the Islamic-Salafi movement, a sector of Islam that emphasizes adherence to pratices and beliefs of early generations of Muslims (al-salaf al-ṣāliḥ) His writings focus on creed (ʿaqīdah), methodology (manhaj), refutations of theological opponents, and contemporary ideological issues.[3]

He is part of a network of Salafi-oriented websites and projects, including platforms dedicated to refuting extremist and progressive interpretations of Islam and clarifying doctrinal positions.

Political, Sociological, and Scientific Beliefs

Abu Iyaad deals with many topics ranging from science to politics on his website. Some of these opinions of have mixed reactions, with some rejecting his teachings for being to extreme.

Political Opinions

Abu Iyaad does not talk much about conservatism, but he's a staunch critiquer of Progressive left-wingers[4]. He rejects the concept of Socialism, Democratic Socialism and Communism, going as far to say that "Woke is a species of Marxism" and claiming "Marxism, Socialism, Communism, Collectivism comprise an ideology that wages war against the natural order that Allāh placed in His creation"[5]. Abu Iyaad does not support Islamic "Freedom fighter" groups in the middle east[6], such as Hamas. And in one article, claiming Hamas was is a 'tool' used by Israeli-Zionists to further the war with Palestine.[7]

Iyaad in general does not like revolutionary groups, comparing western Communists and Environmentalists to the birth of the freemasonry movement and the revolution led by Abdullāh bin Saba against the 3rd Caliph [ʿUthmān].[8]

Abu Iyaad opposes the idea of Democracy. For instance, in a post on Shaykh Ahmad al-Najmī’s views, he describes democracy as deceived by the majority (a trait of pre-Islamic ignorance)[9] He summarizes that Islam gives authority to a leader for virtue and capability, whereas “the people of disbelief give preference majority, to votes… known as democracy”[10]

Scientific Beliefs

On science, he routinely rejects mainstream theories and ideas (heliocentrism, Darwinian evolution, Big Bang cosmology, germ theory, climate change, etc.) as either false or incompatible with Islamic scripture. He frames these as conspiratorial or atheistic deceptions, insisting that the Qurʾān and early Muslim scholars teach a contrary view.

Abu Iyaad denies heliocentrism, claiming that the Quran and Hadiths explicitly point towards a unmoving round earth, with the sun moon and stars orbiting it. And that the Earth must be the biggest body, with all other celestial bodies having to be smaller then the Earth, and closer than what "Astronomers-Astrologers" (Abu Iyaad calls mainstream Astronomy that name) say they are.[11] Abu Iyaad also claims geocentrism was slowly regaining recognition in the 1900s, which led to a "propaganda campaign" by scientist to 'discredit' it VIA Science-fiction and other means.

"Likewise, certain institutions such as NASA and various geological organizations were set up in order to conceal realities and gatekeep in this affair." "Low-earth orbit can be achieved, however there is a fluid environment at a certain altitude which has not yet been penetrated"[12]

Abu Iyaad calls Darwinian evolution “another false theory” with not a shred of scientific evidence[12] He claims DNA evidence shows purposeful design and that natural selection/mutations have been “falsified” as mechanism[12]

Iyaad authored an e-book addressing the question of whether evolution can be reconciled with Islam using Qur’anic evidence and real-world observations. He concluded that it is permissible for a Muslim to accept microevolution, but not macroevolution.[13]

Possibly one of the most controversial of his opinion is the rejection of Germs. He asserts “There is no such thing as a 'pathogenic virusnot a single shred of evidence in lab or nature”. He claims “viral contagion” was disproven in early 20th century and that viruses are lab artifacts or cellular byproducts[14] Abu Iyaad has supported the conspiracy theory that COVID-19 was made by the US government, and claims it was a test of peoples loyalty to mainstream medicine.[15]

Such claims are to be taken with a grain of salt, as his articles usually take an anti-scientific stance when it comes to findings and discoveries.
