Abyss of Darkness

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Abyss of Darkness (AoD) is a Geometry Dash level started in late 2017 and finished in April 2022. Abyss of Darkness is the fourth hardest level in Geometry Dash. The level is filled with frame-perfect timings and extremely tight gaps that the player’s hitbox can barely fit through.

History

Abyss of Darkness was first revealed to the public in January 2018, when the host of the level, Exen, uploaded a YouTube showcase of a work in progress version of the level. In October 2018, Exen uploaded his completion of the level, which was later found to be edited and illegitimate. After this event, the level was forgotten for over two years as it was considered too difficult for any player to beat, with some considering it impossible. In July 2020, a player named Dils Thik would attempt to beat the level. After over a year, he failed at the final timing of the level twice[1], and gave up on the level. His efforts brought back attention to the level, and other players decided to attempt it. A year after Dils’ fail, in April 2022, the player Cursed would successfully complete the level, marking the first time any player has beaten the level without cheats, allowing it to be placed on the Demon List, and was placed as the #1 hardest level at the time of release.
