Academic Parity Movement

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Academic Parity Movement is a non-profit organization that tries to resuscitate basic rights in academia, which are the same human rights that apply outside the lab and apply inside it! The short-term goal of the organization is to increase awareness about academic incivility among all involved stakeholders, including institutions, funding agencies, and decision makers; and the long-term goal is to create a collaborative platform between the stakeholders to solve this major issue in our science community.

The Academic Parity Movement was established in 2019. The founders and international advisory boards [e.g., Drs. Loraleigh Keashly (Wayne State University), Morteza Mahmoudi (Michigan State University), Leah Hollis (Morgan State University), and Sherry Moss (Wake Forest University)] are experts in the field of workplace bullying.[1][2][3][4]. The first global conference organized by the Academic Parity Movement, titled "STEM the Bullying," was held in March 2021[5]
