Academy Securities, Inc. is an institutional investment bank specializing in Corporate Finance, Public Finance, Institutional Trading, Equity Trading, Mergers and Acquisitions, Securitized Products Advisory, Money Market Funds, and Geopolitical Risk Advisory.[1]
It is the nation’s first post-9/11 military veteran-owned and operated investment bank.[2] [3]
Academy Securities, founded in 2009, is a privately held independent broker-dealer and a member of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board (MSRB), and Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC).[4]
The Academy Geopolitical Intelligence Group (GIG) is a geopolitical risk advisory board consisting of retired Generals and Admirals, as well as members of the Intelligence Community, FBI, former Pentagon Officials and NASA Astronauts.[5]
The firm is headquartered in New York City with offices nationwide.[6]
History:
In 2009, U.S. Naval Officer Chance Mims founded Academy Securities. Chance serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the firm. The firm’s history coincides with the contraction of the financial services industry in the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis and the winding down of the post-9/11 conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.[7]
Mission:
Academy Securities is committed to addressing veteran unemployment by hiring, training, and supporting service members transitioning to civilian careers. It collaborates with veteran nonprofits and works with state and local government Veteran Services Agencies to support local veteran communities.[8] [9]
