Acetate fermentation
From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki
Acetate fermentation is a fermentation process where the final product is acetate – the conjugate base of acetic acid. It is different from acetogenesis – sometimes called homoacetogenesis – where acetate is produced by reduction of carbon dioxide (CO
2), which is a form of anaerobic respiration; acetate fermentation does not involve any form of cellular respiration.
