Activ8me
Activ8me (operated as Australian Private Networks Pty Ltd) is an Australian internet service provider (ISP) that provides NBN[1] Fibre[2], Fixed Wireless[3] and Satellite internet across Australia[4], and Opticomm[5] internet in NSW, ACT, VIC, QLD and WA. Activ8me also created and maintains Remote Community Telecommunications for Prime Minister and Cabinet[6], providing internet and phone services to remote areas and Indigenous communities[7][8].
The company was founded in 2002[9] and is based in Preston, Melbourne. They also have a number of agents around Australia.[10][11]
Activ8me have the largest percentage share[12] of Sky Muster Satellite[13] customers, and are regularly involved in events and panels [14] talking about the technology[15]
Remote Community Phones
Activ8me have installed over 300 community phones since 2009[16] as part of the Australian Government’s Remote Australia Strategies Programme[17]
Remote community phones were developed and installed, powered by solar energy and using satellite connection.
The phone booths are located in remote parts of northern Australia, including:
- The Kimberley area in Western Australia,
- Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory
- Mornington Island off the Queensland coast.
