Acton Cricket Club
Acton Cricket Club is a cricket club in Ealing, West London. The club was founded in 1908, originally as a part of West Kensington Wesleyan church's sports section. In 1972 the club changed its name to Acton Cricket Club to associate the club with the area in which it played its home matches.[1].
In 2021, Acton Cricket Club is fielding four league teams[2] in the Middlesex County Cricket League as well as six junior teams. In 2021, the club launched a girls' cricket section for the very first time.
In 2021, the club announced that it was fundraising to build a new pavilion adjacent to its existing ground[3][4].
In 2019, the Club's Chairman, John Reeve, was named The Cricketer magazine's community champion of the year and enjoyed the honour of ringing the five minute bell at Lord's cricket ground signalling the opening of play in the test match between England and Ireland[5]
