AdHoc Studio

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

AdHoc Studio is an American company based in California specializing in computer game development and interactive narrative storytelling. The company was founded in February 2018 by Micheal Choung, Dennis Lenart, Nick Herman, and Pierre Shorette[1] with the goal to "carry the interactive narrative torch into the future."[1]

History[edit]

AdHoc Studio was founded in February 2018 by Telltale Games alumni Micheal Choung, Dennis Lenart, Nick Herman, and Pierre Shorette[1], four former Telltale Games employees who had experience working in the film industry along with video games. The four men had previously worked on critically acclaimed titles such as The Walking Dead[2] and Tales From The Borderlands[3]. The company set out to continue the evolution of the interactive narrative genre after the bankruptcy of Telltale Games.[4] The studio was revealed to the public by an exclusive Variety article[1] written by Micheal Futter. In the article, it was revealed that the AdHoc team was already working on a project, although it was not disclosed what the project was or if they were working on IP belonging to partners like Telltale was known for. However, it was implied that the project they were working on was live-action like Netflix's Black Mirror: Bandersnatch.[5]

On February 15th 2018, the AdHoc studio blog[6] was opened. In their first blog post, they reveal that former Telltale CFO Kathy McElwee had joined the AdHoc team, taking a position as CFO.
