History and style[edit]
The Adam Ezra Group is a Boston based band formed around guitarist and singer Adam Ezra. Ezra, who known for playing barefoot,[1] focuses on community and the belief that "making music together is itself a form of grassroots organizing, capable of nothing less than changing the world."[2] They have used their grassroots organizing to raise money for cancer patients and for families of wounded veterans.[2] The band has developed a "personal synergy" with their fanbase according to one reviewer.[3]
Ezra has recently started collaborating with John Oates of Hall & Oates in Nashville between tours, with their first song, All I Am featured in their CD Hurricane Wind.[2]
Reviews and awards[edit]
The band has been called "one of the most uniquely powerful, underground live music experiences in the country"[4] and Ezra has been called "one of the most promising songwriters to come along in years."[5]
The band has won Song of the Year at the New England Music Awards twice, for Let Your Hair Down and Takin Off, as well as winning Album of the Year for Ragtop Angel in 2012 and Band of the Year in 2013.[6]
