Adam Jessop is an English actor best known for his portrayal of Mark Roberts in the CBBC show Powers.
Early life and education
Jessop was born on 7 April 1986 in Bournemouth, UK. His father, Nick, is a telecommunications engineer, and his mother, Donna, is a nurse. He is the eldest of four children.
Jessop attended Highcliffe School in Dorset, and took acting classes from a young age in Bournemouth. He subsequently studied acting at Brockenhurst College and later attended East 15 Acting School, graduating in 2016.
Career
Jessop first started his career as Tommy (aged 10), in The Who's Tommy in London's West End. He played the role again at The Mayflower, Southampton.
Jessop’s career has spanned TV, Film and Theatre. Notable roles include James in Loving Smacks for Channel 4, as Mark Townshend in The Bill, Joe in Doc Martin, Deacon in Like Father Like Son, and as Tom Pickles in Heartbeat for ITV. He also played Kes Slattery in Silent Witness, Paul Carr in Holby City, Ste Cleghorn in Doctors, and Mark Roberts in Powers for CBBC alongside Mandana Jones, Rupert Holliday-Evans and Amy Yamazaki.
