Trained in performing arts at Kirklees College, Huddersfield, he was nominated by Leeds Civic Arts Guild for his 2009 Leeds Youth Opera performance in the European premier of Appomattox, an opera by American composer Philip Glass.[3][4]
In 2013 he performed at the Close Encounters Prom at Jodrell Bank alongside the Hallé Orchestra conducted by Stephen Bell in celebration of Sir Bernard Lovell’s 100th birthday.[5]
Lacey and Christos first met whilst individually performing for The Inspiration Awards at Cadogan Hall, London in 2012 [6] and have since been in demand at music festivals [7][8] Warner Leisure Hotels[9] and entertaining on cruise ships. In March 2017 they undertook an extensive Fred. Olsen & Co. World Cruise to South East Asia and the South Pacific.[10]
In 2018 Lacey released a solo album covering songs from well known musicals entitled 'Stars'.[11] A UK tour followed, beginning with a good review at the Phoenix Theatre Castleford.[12]
2021 saw him tour various UK locations including Castle Howard and Hale Barns Proms (supporting Russell Watson) with 'Forever Tenors' alongside Rob Durkin.[13][14][15][16]
