Adam John Munich (born May 2, 1994) is an American scientist.
Munich attended Orchard Park High School, Harkness Career and Technical Center, and Rochester Institute of Technology.[1][2]
In 2012 he was recognized by Popular Science for designing and building a portable battery-operated X-ray machine.[3]
In his first year at RIT, he got into trouble for cracking our IT security systems just to show us how easy they were to break into.
— Bill Destler,[2] President, Rochester Institute of Technology
In 2013, he won first place for the Engibous Prize in the sixth annual Texas Instruments Analog Design Contest.[4] Munich's project focused on improving the original Tesla coil, producing a working model.[2][5]
During his attendance of the Rochester Institute of Technology,[6] he founded The Construct, a student-run hackerspace.[7]
In 2014, he was awarded the Thiel Fellowship[8] to continue his work in mobilizing radiography.
In 2014, Aperture Systems, Inc., was formed in Berkeley, California, to make mobile and affordable X-ray radiography.[9][10][11][12][13]
