Adarsh Saxena (Hindi:आदर्श सक्सेना; born 17 March 1982) is a Hindustani classical vocalist from Kota, Rajasthan. A compendium of Adarsh's repertory has been Khayal and Bhajan.

Adarsh was a scholar student of ITC Sangeet Research Academy, Kolkata:[1] (2003-2012) under the tutelage of Pt. Arun Bhaduri. He is also an artiste of Spic Macay and a B-high grade artiste in All India Radio, Jaipur. Presently, he is a Master of Vocal Music at The Doon School, Dehradun[2] (since 2015).

Adarsh Saxena was born in March 1982 in Kota, Rajasthan. He exhibited a keen interest in music since the age of 5 and was tutored by Mahesh Chandra Sharma where he received his training with Shreya Ghoshal [3]. He participated and reached the semifinals in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa in 1995. In 2003, he was awarded Rajasthan Sangeet Natak Academy scholarship, HRD Ministry Scholarship and ITC SRA scholarship of 2003.

He continued his musical journey further under the tutelage of Pt. Arun Bhaduri at ITC Sangeet Research Academy, Kolkata[1] from 2003 where he mastered the genres of Khayal and Bhajan.

Career

Adarsh left ITC Sangeet Research Academy[1] after finishing his research. He had established himself as a distinguished artist in Khayal and Bhajan genres of Hindustani Classical music. While at ITC Sangeet Research Academy[1] Adarsh recognized his interest in research and teaching music. In 2015, he joined The Doon School, Dehradun[2] working as a tutor of Hindustani Classical music. He is also a High Grade artist of All India Radio, Jaipur.

Performances

Adarsh's performance in the Lakshminarayana Global Music Festival found a review in a national daily.

The rhythmically fascinating chhota khayal had its mukhda starting from the 5th beat of Teentala. Adarsh also presented a Jhaptala and Teentala composition of Pt. Arun Bhaduri and Pt. Jnanprakash Ghosh in raga Jog before concluding his vocal recital with a Bhairavi Bhajan
