Addepto.[1] is a multinational AI consultancy and Data solution development company founded in 2018. Headquartered in Warsaw, it operates in a remote-friendly model, hiring AI and Data experts from all over the world.
Despite a relatively short market presence, Addepto quickly gained recognition in the AI-related market. After just a year, the company was recognized by 265 Data Science service as one of the best startups to work for as Data Scientist[2]. Two years later, Hackernoon mentioned it as one of the "Top 30 Business Intelligence Consulting Companies.[3]" In 2022, Forbes.com named it one of the "Top 10 AI Consulting Companies" alongside global players such as Capgemini, EY, IBM, and Boston Dynamics[4].
The global recognition came hand in hand with Addepto's business growth: since 2018, the company has declared yearly growth of nearly 100 percent[5]
History[edit]
Addepto was originated in 2018 by two Data Science experts - Artur Haponik and Edwin Lisowski[6]. Then, the Data Sciences field was in its infancy, the leading roles and activities were getting their today's shapes, and data experts rarely got to dive deep into the niches that formed later. Working for global consulting companies on enterprise-scale projects was the only way to get comprehensive know-how.
Haponik and Lisowski, combining their studies at the SGH Warsaw School of Economics, one of the most prestigious business universities in Poland, with work for global consulting companies, met while working on one of the projects. They were gaining a unique consulting experience, but the corporate culture was not the work environment they were looking for. Thus the idea of launching their own business sparked immediately when they met.
Addepto was meant to be an organization that steps away from frantic procedures, vertical hierarchy, and anonymity but doesn't dive into start-up chaos. The "Addepto" name was not random. It indicates the idea of professionalism, expertise, and constant eagerness to learn.
With these ideas in mind, Artur Haponik and Edwin Lisowski registered Addepto in 2018 while working on the project of creating an AI-driven ERP solution for fitness clubs. The client was looking for ways to derive meaningful business insights from raw data gathered in its sales systems. The project - an automated AI-driven data platform implemented on the existing client's infrastructure - was a success, and the then-two-person company started to grow.
Addepto's first headquarter was based in Warsaw on Bukowińska Street, as in the initial years, the company's recruitment processes were focused on Warsaw-based employees. However, this limitation quickly became a primary growth blocker, as the AI experts' talent pool was not big enough for the company's fast-paced growing needs. Thus, even before the pandemic, Addepto switched to a remote-friendly model and started hiring experts worldwide to unlock business growth.
Addepto built its position in the blossoming AI market in the following years; the company decided to participate in Industry 4.0 acceleration by KPT[7], where the AI team worked on developing Machine Learning products for big-scale enterprises. They were designed to solve particular business problems regarding predictive maintenance, drone image recognition, and client scoring. Even though the products turned out to be unscalable - because of the level of their customization - Addepto's young team gained unique know-how, recognizing the challenges enterprises tackle and creating unique intellectual property.
While in the first years, Addepto focused on Machine Learning, Data Analytics, Natural Language Processing[8], and Computer Vision solutions, 2021 was when the company included MLOps into their offer as an emerging technology. MLOps became a gateway for reaching out to enterprises looking for a way to bring their AI-based solutions onto the production stage.
After that Addepto could scale up its business and gain more prominent global clients, but - to accelerate the growth even more - the company decided to team up with Grape Up[9]. This company invested in Addepto, seeing in it the opportunity to expand its expertise in the Artificial Intelligence area.
Addepto perfectly fits our company's development strategy built around the most innovative technologies. As Grape Up, we have regularly invested in AI and Data Science products and competencies for the last two years. The knowledge and projects implemented by the Addepto team enrich our experience in Big Data and Data Analytics, said Konrad Siatka, CEO at Grape Up.
Grape Up and Addepto continue to operate independently, using complementary knowledge and expertise to provide full-stack services and products to their customer[10].
Main activities[edit]
Addepto focuses on Artificial Intelligence[11] and Data Science, delivering customized solutions for companies across industries. The company’s main capabilities are:
Artificial Intelligence
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a general term that refers to the simulation of human intelligence in machines programmed to mimic human-way thinking and actions. AI is not a technology per se but rather a set of technologies applied to developing systems endowed with the intellectual processes characteristic of humans, such as the ability to reason, discover meaning, generalize, or learn from experience.
Data Science & Data Engineering
Data science is the field of study that combines programming skills and knowledge of mathematics and statistics to extract meaningful insights from data. Data Engineering is the field of making raw data usable and accessible to Data Scientists. It is the practice of designing and building data collection, storage, and analysis systems.
Business Intelligence Services

Computer Vision
Computer Vision is a subset of Artificial Intelligence (AI) that enables computers to interpret digital images, videos, and other visual inputs and derive meaningful insights from them.
MLOps
MLOps is a function of Machine Learning engineering focused on streamlining the process of taking ML models to production-ready levels, maintaining them, and monitoring them.
