Additive Manufacturing Technologies

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Additive Manufacturing Technologies is a company based in Sheffield, United Kingdom. Additive Manufacturing Technologies (AMT) is a technology company focused on unlocking the potential of 3D Printing through the development of machine and data technology.[1]. The company's introductory video can be seen here [2]

The company is initially focusing on the 'pain points' of 3D Printing. One of these pain points is Post Processing or finishing. The post processing of 3D Printed parts currently can equate for up to 30% of the part's final cost. These unwanted costs erode many of the benefits of 3D Printing. In 2018 Additive Manufacturing Technologies released their first technology, PostPro3D. PostPro3D allows for the repeatable and reproducible smoothing of rough 3D Printed parts.[3]

This technology not only allows the user to smooth the 3D Printed part to a controllable finish, it improved the materials' mechanical properties as well.[4]

Additive Manufacturing Technologies were nominated as Startup of the Year in 2018.[5] Previous winners of this prestigious award include Desktop Metal. The 3D Printing Industry Startup of the Year award follows on from Additive Manufacturing Technologies winning the Formnext 2017 Startup Challenge [6]

In March 2018 AMT signed a Collaboration Agreement with Farsoon Technologies [7] to develop automated post processing technologies for their CAMS systems. [8] / [9]

In October 2017 Additive Manufacturing Technologies partnered with Cipres Technology Systems to provide high spedd 3D Print surface finishing to European Customers. [10]. Earlier this month, Sheffield-based AMT announced a post processing partnership with US additive manufacturing service bureau Midwest Prototyping LLC[11]

The company are recognised as developing Industry 4.0 Compliant Solutions for some of the worlds' largest OEMS [12]. This technology has been developed as a result of an Innovate UK award of £624,000 by the UK Government's Innovation Agency - Innovate UK [13], [14]

Additive Manufacturing Technologies is a member of Sheffield Digital who's aim is to help develop the best possible environment for setting up, working in and growing digital businesses in Sheffield and the surrounding region -[15]. Additive Manufacturing Technologies also have been awarded Made In Sheffield Status - [16]
